Board of the World is a skateboard and snowboard shop that specializes in writing unbiased, in-depth gear reviews. The goal of Board of the World is to help riders of all skill levels find the perfect skateboard and snowboard so you can have more fun riding it and spend less time shopping for it.
Why I Started This Website
There is an endless sea of gear review information out there, and not all of it is reliable or explains in depth what the gear will feel like under your feet.
That’s what I am trying to do with this website. My goal is to clearly and honestly explain how a skateboard or snowboard will feel when you stand on it. I write from the East Coast freestyle rider and skater’s perspective.
This site is completely independent, so we have no ties or allegiance to any one brand. That allows me to tell you the good, the bad, and even the ugly about each piece of board I try.
About the Author: Steve Weber
Hi, I’m Steve Weber.
I started Board of the World because I was tired of seeing gear reviews that only focused on riding in the perfect conditions. Let’s be real: most of us East Coast riders aren’t riding waist-deep snow every time we snowboard.
I live and ride in Northeastern Pennsylvania. When I test a board, I’m testing how it handles on ice, hardpack, and flat-out “brick” conditions. If a board can hold an edge here, it can hold an edge anywhere.

My Stats:
- Experience: 27 years snowboarding (East Coast born and bred), 21 years skateboarding.
- Style: 42-year-old intermediate park rider.
- Home Mountain: Montage Mountain, PA.
- Local Shop I Work With: Ski Shack in Moosic PA
I try to get my hands on next season’s boards months in advance so you know how it will be when your shopping for your next board.
My goal is simple: I want to help you cut through the hype and find the gear that actually works for the conditions you ride, so you can have fun from the very first run.

So, whether you’re an advanced rider or just starting out, I welcome you to join me on this ride. Let’s talk boards, shred some gnar, and learn a few new things along the way.
