3 Problems With Remind Insoles Snowboard Boot Liners & Their Solutions

Anyone reviewing the Remind Insole’s Solution Boot Liners will tell you they are outstanding for plantar fasciitis and shin splints. There’s even data to back that up, that they help with impact absorption for hitting jumps, and they also improve your body’s alignment for better carving response.

On paper, these liners are an affordable way to make an old boot ride like a more expensive high-performance boot.

But stats don’t tell the whole story. Here are three overlooked issues I ran into, and what you need to know before dropping the cash on these liners.

The Liners Can Bulk Out Your Boot & Alter Your Binding’s Fit

Remind’s Solution boot liners are available in full sizes, so my men’s size nine boot meant I had to purchase the same liner that would also fit in a men’s nine and a half boot.

I noticed this because the Solution liners were a bit bulky for my boot’s shell. The liners caused the overall width of the boot to ‘bulk out,’ which then interfered with the overall fit of my bindings. I ride a Men’s Medium Union Force, which has a fairly snug footbed to begin with. The extra width puffing out over the outsole of my boot made it a challenge for me to step into my bindings properly without getting hung up on the binding’s sidewalls. I could still get it to fit, but I had to fidget with it to get the puffiness to move out of the way.

So the first challenge is that these liners might fit differently in your boot than your regular boot liners. So here is what I recommend to make sure that isn’t the case for you.

The Fix

Before you heat mold your new liners, put them into your boots and try them on. Take notice if your boot’s shell is different with the new liners in. From there, strap into your bindings and try to mimic the movements of your foot as you toe or heel carve. Take notice if everything works and fits as you’d expect.

This is a crucial step because Remind has a free 20-day return policy, but it’s only for unaltered liners and insoles. If you heat mold them, you won’t be able to return them. I recommend you see if these liners could be right for your boot before dialing in their customized fit by heat molding them.

The Remedy Insoles They Come With Might Be Too Much Arch Support for Flat Feet

I’m a massive fan of the Remind Destin insoles because they worked perfectly for my flat feet on day one. They are soft with a low profile or a more neutral arch. I assumed the Solution liner’s Remedy insole that it came with would offer a similar feel to that, but it doesn’t.

The Solution liners come with Remind’s Remedy insoles. These have a higher arch support and they’re a bit stiffer than the squishy, memory foam-like feeling you’d find in the Destin.

The Remind Remedy insole is designed to offer more of an arch into your foot, rather than just supporting what’s there. For my flat foot, that meant some extra pressure in the mid-foot that made me want to swap out the insoles for the Destin insoles instead.

The Fix

If you love the Solution liner’s specs but have a flatter foot that will be sensitive to the arch, you’ll want to swap the insole out for a flatter one like the Remind Destin. Take Remind’s insole finder or look through this chart to learn which insole will be best for your foot.

I know this adds to your overall cost, but it’ll be worth it to be sure you get the right level of support for your foot. The pro tip is to try the Solution line’s Remedy insole as is and see if it works for you. If it does, you’re golden. If it doesn’t just swap them out for one of Remind’s insoles that are to the left portion of this chart. Those are the ones for lower arches.

The Break-In Period: The Benefits of Response and Absorption Are Instant, the Comfort Isn’t

These liners are made with high-performance urethane foam and not the standard polyethylene foam found in most boot liners. Because of the use of higher-quality foam, these liners are significantly stiffer and will take a few days longer to break in than you might expect.

It’s an important note because you’ll probably be buying these because you already experience some sort of foot pain while riding, and want to be more comfortable. I promise you they will be comfortable eventually. You’ll just need a strategy and some patience to help break your Solution liners in.

The Fix

Heat mold your boots, wear them around the house when you can. For the first week you ride them, bring your old liners (or an old pair of boots with you. Ride your Solution liners each session for as long as you can and then swap for your broken-in pair. After around a week, they’ll feel like a cloud, and you won’t need that second pair of liners or boots.

Pros

  • Pain Relief & Unreal Shock Absorption: Outstanding level of impact absorption that helps reduce pain felt with plantar fasciitis and shin splints.
  • Performance & Response Improvements: Improves body alignment for better carving response and dampening on uneven terrain.
  • Improved Heel Hold: High-performance foam locks your foot in place better than most stock liners.
  • Affordable Way to Give New Life to Old Boots: An affordable way to revitalize an old shell without buying brand-new boots.
  • Durability: Made with high-quality urethane foam that outlasts standard polyethylene liners.

Cons

  • Break-In Time: Significant stiffness out of the box; requires patience and a specific break-in strategy (heat molding + wear time).
  • Bulky Fit: The added volume can “bulk out” the boot shell, potentially causing fit issues with snug bindings.
  • Arch Specificity: The included “Remedy” insoles may be too aggressive for some flat-footed riders, requiring an additional swap to the “Destin” or a flatter arched insole model.

Verdict: Are the Remind Solution Boot Liners Worth It?

Regardless of the few initial quirks with the bulk and break-in time, the Remind Insoles Solution Liners are truly a must-buy for riders dealing with foot pain of any kind. If you are willing to put in the work up front to heat mold and then break them in properly, you will be rewarded with improved body alignment and response for carving, an outstanding level of shock absorption for landing jumps, and a level of customized comfort that makes every run feel a little bit better.

So, yes. These boot liners are absolutely worth it.
