Last updated: November 5, 2026. These Terms apply to the Board of the World app on iOS for Apple, Google Play for Android, and at https://app.boardoftheworld.com, and to comments you post on boardoftheworld.com.
1. Agreement and who we are
The Board of the World app (the “App”) is operated by Sweber Marketing LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“Board of the World,” “BotW,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy . If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.
Comments you post on boardoftheworld.com count as “your content” under Section 3 and must follow the community rules in Section 4. Purchases from the Board of the World shop are covered by the shop’s own policies, not these Terms.
Who can use the App
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these Terms on your behalf.
- If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for using apps like this one, you must meet that age.
- You can’t use the App if we have previously banned your account.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current.
- Keep your password private. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per account. Don’t impersonate anyone or create accounts to get around a ban.
- Your username, profile photo, quiver, and ratings may be visible to other users.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time with the delete account option in the App. Deleting your account removes your profile, quiver, photos, and reviews from the App. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time before they are overwritten, and content we already featured elsewhere is handled as described in Section 3.
3. Your content
“Your content” means the photos, star ratings, reviews, comments, and gear entries you add to the App.
You own your content. Posting it doesn’t transfer ownership to us.
The license you give us. When you post content, you give Board of the World a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and adapt it (for example, resizing or cropping a photo), and to show it in the App, on boardoftheworld.com, in our emails, and on Board of the World social media accounts. We may credit you by your username when we feature your content. This license lets us run, improve, and promote Board of the World. We don’t sell your content to anyone.
When you delete content. The license ends when you delete the content or your account. Exceptions: copies in backups for a limited time, and content we already featured in a sent email or a published post. If you want a featured post taken down, email us and we’ll remove it where we reasonably can.
Your promises. By posting, you confirm that:
- You took the photo or have the right to share it.
- Your content doesn’t violate anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Your reviews reflect your honest experience with the gear.
Gear entries. When you add a board or binding that’s already in our catalog, we may combine duplicate entries so there is one listing per product. Your photos and ratings stay attached to your quiver.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we can use them without owing you anything.
4. Community rules
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You may not post content or behave in a way that:
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or targets anyone
- Is hateful or discriminatory toward any person or group
- Is sexually explicit, violent, or graphic
- Shows or encourages illegal activity or dangerous stunts done for the camera
- Is spam, advertising, self-promotion, or affiliate links of your own
- Is fake, including fake reviews, reviews of gear you haven’t ridden, or reviews paid for by a brand without saying so
- Shares someone else’s personal information or photos of people without their permission
- Infringes copyright, such as product photos copied from a brand or retailer
- Tries to hack, scrape, overload, or interfere with the App
How we moderate
- The App filters submissions for objectionable language.
- We review new content, and we may hide, edit for formatting, or remove any content at any time.
- We may suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules, without notice.
Reporting
To report content or a user, or to ask that a user be blocked from contacting you, email [email protected] with the username and a link or description of the content. We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the content’s location, the work you own, and your contact details. We will remove infringing content and ban repeat infringers.
5. Reviews, recommendations, and affiliate links
- Board of the World reviews, scores, and Board Finder matches are opinions based on our own riding and the information you give us. They are not guarantees that a board or binding will suit you.
- Prices, specs, sizes, and availability come from brands and retailers and can change or be wrong. Check with the seller before you buy.
- Ratings and reviews from other users are their own opinions, not ours.
Affiliate links
Some links in the App to retailers are affiliate links. If you buy through one, Board of the World may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships don’t change our scores or recommendations.
Third-party sites
When you follow a link to a retailer or brand, you leave the App. Purchases, returns, shipping, and warranties are between you and that seller, under their terms. We aren’t responsible for third-party sites.
6. Emails, privacy, and your data
- We collect your email address to run your account and send account messages, such as sign-in links and password resets.
- We send emails about price drops, new reviews, and board recommendations only if you opt in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Your data stays with Board of the World and the service providers we use to run the App, such as hosting and email delivery. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers.
- The App is free and has no ads.
- Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and your choices in more detail.
7. Safety, disclaimers, and limits of liability
Snowboarding is dangerous. It can cause serious injury or death. Nothing in the App is safety, instructional, or medical advice. Ride within your ability, wear protective gear, follow resort rules, and have gear mounted and checked by a qualified shop.
The App is provided “as is. “ To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the App, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limits of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, Sweber Marketing LLC and its owner are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to $100.
Indemnity. If your content or your breach of these Terms leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees.
Some places don’t allow these limits. If you live in one of them, including the EU or UK, these limits apply only as far as your local law permits, and nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have as a consumer.
8. Ending use, changes, and legal terms
Ending use. You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or stop offering the App. Sections 3 (feedback), 5, 7, and 8 still apply after your account ends.
Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We’ll change the “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you in the App or by email. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the new Terms.
Apple and Google. These Terms are between you and Sweber Marketing LLC, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren’t responsible for the App, its content, maintenance, support, or any claims about it. If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You must also follow the app store’s own terms.
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
General. If any part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t waived it. You can’t transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours if Board of the World is sold or reorganized.
