Enjoi Impact Light Skate Deck Review

For the past few months, I’ve been testing the strongest skateboard decks and sharing my findings here. I bought an Enjoi Impact Light deck to review for that project. Here is a quick review of what I thought of it.

Here are pics of the Enjoi Impact Light Deck while I was skating it. The nose chipped pretty early on, so I used clamps to wood glue it back together.

What Makes an Impact Light Deck Stronger Than a Normal Skate Deck?

An Impact Light deck is a deck made with 7 plies of Canadian maple and an additional carbon fiber laminate designed into the center of the top maple ply. The carbon fiber layer placed on the top gives the board an extra level of durability and pop while still having the same feel and sliding properties of a traditional 7-ply maple skateboard deck.

According to Enjoi skateboards, and Dwindle Distribution, impact light decks are better than the typical skateboard deck for these reasons.

  • Lighter
  • Stronger
  • Longer Lasting Pop
  • Longer Deck Life – It is guaranteed against breaking for 30 days.

Our Rating: 84.4 out of a possible 100 or 4.22 out of a possible 5 stars for the Enjoi Impact Light Skate Deck.

  • Added Durability – It feels like a normal skate deck even though it is reinforced with carbon fiber to offer it a longer deck life.
  • Pop that doesn’t wear out – The carbon gives this board a lot of pop that doesn’t get soggy over time.
  • Lightweight – It doesn’t weigh more than a standard maple skate deck.
  • Nice shape – Medium concave is very easy to get used to.
  • Price/Value – These are the cheapest carbon fiber skate decks you can find currently.
  • Consistent feel every time you skate it – It feels the same every day you stand on it without breaking down over time.

  • It chips easily – The wooden layers still chip just like a normal maple deck.
  • Razor tail – Being that the base layers are wood, this board still gets razor from use.

Specs of The Deck I Reviewed

I reviewed an 8.0 x 31.6″ with a 14″ wheelbase.

Sizes Available
Enjoi Impact Light Decks comes in a variety of widths ranging from 7.75″, 8″, 8.25″, 8.38″, 8.5″ to 8.8″.

How Long Mine Lasted

The Enjoi Impact Light lasted me for 30 days of sakting before it was swapped it out for another deck.

This is about average for me regardless of the deck having carbon. In other words, it lasted as long as any other deck would. The large difference was that it still had some pop when I stopped skating it.

Reasons I Stopped Skating It

  1. I gave up on this deck because it had large chips taken out of its nose and tail. I had to wood glue pieces back on.
  2. Additionally, it had razor tail so bad it was getting difficult to pop.

Is Buying an Enjoi Impact Light Deck Worth It?

Yes, but I’d say it comes down to the price.

If you can find it on sale for less than $60, then yes, it’s absolutely worth it.

If not, then I’d recommend just get a non-carbon fiber skate deck cheaper.
