This year, I was invited back to the EWSRA tradeshow to see some of the new 2026 Capita snowboards that will be released next season. I took these pictures and wrote down these notes while I was at the show.
Update: As of March 5th 2025, Capita began to sell three boards from their 2026 lineup.

- The 2026 Capita Merc
- The 2026 Capita Bird’s of a Feather
- The 2026 Capita SB Resort Twin
These just started to hit retailer’s shelves. See Blauer Boardshop’s inventory
and EVO’s inventory over the next few days to be one of the first to ride these boards.
Here’s the 2026 board preview for Capita.
The indoor photos below are from the actual EWSTA tradeshow, while the outdoor photos are from an on-snow demo a few days later. This year, I got to demo and review the new DOA and Capita Darkhorse for 2026, so some of these pictures are from the demo event for those boards.

For 2026, Capita has two new models to share about.
The New Capita Dark Horse
Check out our full review of the Capita Dark Horse that I just posted.

The Dark Horse is the greenish board that I am riding above in the gallery. This board will take the place of the Capita Outsiders in the lineup. However, this time it’s going to come in a cheaper price tag of $500 USD (rather than $600).
The Dark Horse is an entry-level freestyle/resort board with a true twin shape, a radial sidecut, a Park V1 camber profile, a superdrive (sintruded) base, and a medium flex rating of 6 out of 10.
I rode this one, and it actually felt more pressable than that. I’d say it’s closer to a 4.5 or 5, so more of a soft-to-medium flex. I go into more detail about this and how it helps the board butter and jib here in the review.
The Return of the Stairmaster

Well, this time, it’s actually the Spring Break Stairmaster instead of being on the Capita lineup. The Stairmaster is an entry-level park board with a true twin shape, a radial sidecut, a Park V1 camber profile, a superdrive (sintruded) base, and a medium flex rating of 5.5 out of 10.
Current Model Change Notes
There are also some existing model updates that are worth noting.
Here are the ones I know so far:
- The Capita Ultrafear is celebrating its 16th birthday with a shape change back to its original rounded nose and tail.

- The Super DOA is getting an update to its 3D milled out core. The Super DOA’s core now features Capita’s new Thermopolymer Starship Core and re-engineered D-shaped contouring. This update adds to the versatility of the board by improving its response while still making it versatile enough to press into features in the park.

- The 2026 Outerspace living and Paradise were given carbon boosters to add to their pop and response.
- These models are expected to be released in early September of 2025. We are estimating it will be around September 12th of 2025.
I’ll add more notes as I learn them.

Everything below this line is news from previous years at the show.

The 2025 Capita Snowboards Lineup
Here are a few product images of the new models. I’ll be adding to this over the next few weeks.
The 2025 Capita Aeronaut Snowboard

The Aeronaut is designed by Capita team rider Arthur Longo. This board is a directional twin with a camber profile that was designed to pay homage to the directional cambered boards of the 90s. It is designed specifically to go all over your local resort and is ready to charge through powder or groomers while having the additional pop to launch you off every side hit you find.
The 2025 Capita Aeronaut features the Alpine V3 profile.

The Aeronaut has two upgrades for 2025:
- It has the new Hyperdrive ADV XT Die-Cut Base
- It comes in four new wide sizes 156 Wide, 158 Wide, 160 Wide, 162 Wide
The 2025 Capita Aeronaut is expected to ship on September 2024.
The 2025 Capita Mega Death

The Mega Death is the supercharged version of the Black Snowboard of Death. This board features a lighter core, a full mega carbon topsheet, and a faster base from the original Black Snowboard of Death.
The Capita Mega Death features the Alpine V1 profile.

The Mega Death has two upgrades for 2025:
- It has the new Megadrive XT Die-Cut Base
- It comes in one new wide size165 Wide
The 2025 Capita Mega Death is expected to ship on September 2024.
The 2025 Capita Mega Merc

This is a premium version of Capita’s award-winning Mercury snowboard. They call this version the “Mega Merc.” The Mega Merc returns for the 2025 season in an incredible looking new graphic.
The Capita Mega Merc is a directional twin with a stance set back by half of an inch. The slight setback stance helps the board float easier in powder without giving it any issues while you ride switch stance.
This snowboard features Capita’s V2 resort profile. It has is a traditional camber between your feet with rocker zones in the nose and tail. It looks like this.

The Mega Merc has two upgrades for 2025:
- It has the new Megadrive XT Die-Cut Base
- It has a new type of glass and resin configuration called Hybrid Holy- Sheet™ Tri / Tri Megacarbon
- The 2025 Capita Mega Merc is expected to ship in September 2024.
The 2025 Capita DOA

The Capita DOA is back with one upgrade with its glass and resin configuration. It now features Capita’s new Hybrid HolySheet™ Bi/Bi directly woven into its Carbon Boosters with Magic Bean resin. This is said to give it a more precise feel while making it a little lighter. There are no new sizes for the DOA have been added.
The D.O.A. is still on the Resort V1 Profile Camber.

The 2025 Capita DOA is expected to ship in September 2024.

He understands that most gear reviews focus on having the perfect snow conditions, but his testing methodology is different. Living in Pennsylvania, Steve describes exactly how a board performs when the conditions aren’t perfect. His reviews cover performance on ice, hardpack, and flat-out brick conditions. In other words, he reviews boards for the conditions that East Coast riders actually face.
Bringing 27 years of East Coast snowboarding and 21 years of skateboarding experience, Steve is a 42-year-old intermediate park rider. His recommendations are informed by decades of battling icy conditions, ensuring every review accounts for the board’s performance on the roughest of terrain.
For the last five years, Steve has poured his passion into writing in-depth, unbiased reviews that help riders make informed decisions about the gear they’ll use. He also works part-time at a snowboard shop in Northeastern Pennsylvania, which gives him a direct line to learning about the new gear tech months in advance. When he’s not writing reviews, Steve is often found riding at Montage Mountain and testing out new boards.
Steve’s goal with Board of the World is simple: to help every reader find the right gear so they can have fun outside from the first time they use it.
